Ford: Joining the Fight Against Child Hunger

Aimed at stocking food banks with high-protein options, the Ford Motor Company Fund and Northwest Ford Dealers--have once again-launched their annual peanut butter drive! This drive is in place to provide hunger relief and access to essential needs that many children go without.

Apple Ford is proud to announce its plans to join the fight. This is the fifth year in a row that the Ford Fund and Northwest Ford dealers have teamed up; this time, New England Ford dealers are joining in! Starting as a five-state campaign in the Pacific Northwest, this drive has seen tremendous growth in a mere 5 years. When we look back on its origins, we see that it only takes a few to start a revolution.

Why Summer?

During the summer months, school meal programs are unavailable; thus, many kids whose families do not have the financial means to supply food must go without. This year, the program will launch on May 5 at Safeco Field during the Mariner's Game. In the last five years, the Ford peanut butter drive has collected more than 180,000 pounds of peanut butter. With New England dealerships joining in, we hope to see this number skyrocket.
